About the event
As part of our David Lynch Memorial Series, join us for a free screening of Eraserhead (1977), Lynch’s nightmarish, surreal debut feature that follows the haunting journey of Henry Spencer, a man trapped in an industrial wasteland and grappling with fear, fatherhood, and the grotesque. Blending dream logic with stark black-and-white visuals and an unsettling soundscape, Eraserhead remains one of the most iconic experimental films of the 20th century.
Preceding the feature, we’ll screen several of Lynch’s early short works:
Six Men Getting Sick (1967) – a looping, animated study in visceral imagery
The Alphabet (1968) – a disturbing blend of animation and live-action exploring childhood anxiety
The Grandmother (1970) – the story of a neglected boy who grows a grandmother from a seed
The Amputee (1974) – a brief, darkly humorous piece featuring a woman writing a letter while her legs are treated by a nurse
