Like any non-profit enterprise, Cinematique of Daytona depends on the generosity of its supporters, patrons, guests and community. Since 2001, we’ve been bringing international, national and local independent film, music, arts and culture to the citizens of Daytona Beach and Volusia County.
For decades we’ve delivered hard-to-find independent and foreign films to area audiences, as well as provided local and student filmmakers a place to showcase their own cinematic creations. Our programming is diverse, creative and engaging … delivered in matinee and evening shows six days a week.
But ticket sales cover only a small percentage of Cinematique’s operating income, and our most valuable revenue comes in the form of good old-fashioned donations from generous individuals like you. The General Program Support (GPS) grant program provides funding for Florida public and private non-profit arts and cultural organizations; including museums, local arts organizations, state service organizations, and organizations that have cultural program activities in any of the art and cultural disciplines. Eligible organizations may apply for up to $150,000 in state funds to support their arts and cultural programming.
The Community Cultural Grant is a program funded by Volusia County Government to assist nonprofit cultural and heritage organizations with general operating support funding. The program is available to 501(c) organizations having been in operation at least two years and having as their primary mission the provision of visual art, performance art, literary art or heritage based programming to Volusia County residents.
The Volusia ECHO program, generated by a grass roots initiative, resulted from a citizen approved referendum passed November 7, 2000. Volusia ECHO provides grant funds to finance acquisition, restoration, construction or improvement of projects to be used for environmental, cultural, historical and outdoor recreational purposes. For 20 years, ECHO helped Volusia County construct important cultural and outdoor recreational projects, save endangered historic buildings and provide environmental education projects. On November 3, 2020, 72% of Volusia County voters cast their ballot to continue the program for an additional 20 years.
The Daytona Beach Racing & Recreational Facilities District (“The District”) works in partnership with the Daytona Beach Street Rods to produce the Turkey Run on Thanksgiving weekend, and the Spring Turkey Run.
