| ZOMBIE FEST 48 HOUR FILM COMPETITION
Filmmakers will have 48 hours to complete a short zombie themed film. The clock starts at 11am on October 27th, when the official entry kit containing one prop and one line of dialogue that must be used in each film can be picked up at the theater. Completed films are due back at Cinematique by 11am October 29th. All appropriate films will be screened free for the public on Halloween at 5:30 pm including awards and prizes. Local Daytona Playhouse actor J. Walker Fischer will perform a live dramatic reading of Edgar Allan Poe’s 19th century gothic short story “The Masque Of The Red Death”.
Back by popular demand, the long banned film Nosferatu will be shown on October 27th at 5:30 pm. The film, shot in 1921 and released in 1922, was an unauthorized adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, with names and other details changed because the studio could not obtain the rights to the novel. This silent movie will feature live orchestration by local musician Marc Dank.
