SUCCESSFUL EVENT FOR LOCAL NON-PROFIT
Art and Cinema, the
fundraiser and long awaited announcement party for local
non-profit Cinematique of Daytona, took place to a full
house on Friday August 20th at the Atlantic
Center for the Arts. The ACA partnered with Cinematique to
present the event. At the entry, members of both
organizations and the community were greeted by the musical
styling's of Rick DeYampert and were able to view the
museums exhibits.
President of Cinematique,
Stephanie Mason-Teague welcomed guests and announced the
reason behind the fundraiser: A new home for Cinematique!
Cinematique of Daytona will once again be located in Daytona
Beach: 242 S. Beach Street. The new venue will be a
dedicated Cinema Café. Films will be shown several times
each day and patrons will be able to enjoy table service of
lunch and dinner selections from the Ivy Lane Bistro located
next door. Selections will include beer and wine.
Mason-Teague said, “ We have been working toward this for
five years, and are very excited to once again have
something great to offer our members and the community. We
hope to provide a true community use artistic venue, and
plan to invite local artists and musicians to use the
space”. |
Also speaking at the
event was Gregory von Hausch, president & CEO of the
Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival, and
Michael Becker, Co-Director of the Daytona Beach
Film Festival. Mr. Von Hausch spoke of the benefit
to the community the new venue will bring, including
the economic impact a theater can have in a
redevelopment area. Mr. Becker encouraged guests to
support this new Cinematique venture and become
sponsors. He announced that new sponsors will also
be given promotional consideration in all 2010
Daytona Beach Film Festival materials, stressing the
benefit of on-screen theater advertising.
Cinematique of
Daytona will present the 8th annual
Daytona Beach Film Festival November 12-14, 2010.
The Fort Lauderdale Film Festival will partner with
the festival and provide select films. Films are
currently being accepted and volunteers are
welcomed. Details:
