SUCCESSFUL EVENT FOR LOCAL NON-PROFIT

Art and Cinema, the fundraiser and long awaited announcement party for local non-profit Cinematique of Daytona, took place to a full house on Friday August 20th at the Atlantic Center for the Arts.  The ACA partnered with Cinematique to present the event.  At the entry, members of both organizations and the community were greeted by the musical styling's of Rick DeYampert and were able to view the museums exhibits.

President of Cinematique, Stephanie Mason-Teague welcomed guests and announced the reason behind the fundraiser:  A new home for Cinematique!  Cinematique of Daytona will once again be located in Daytona Beach:  242 S. Also speaking at the event was Gregory von Hausch, president & CEO of the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival, and Michael Becker, Co-Director of the Daytona Beach Film Festival.  Mr. Von Hausch spoke of the benefit to the community the new venue will bring, including the economic impact a theater can have in a redevelopment area.  Mr. Becker encouraged guests to support this new Cinematique venture and become sponsors.   He announced that new sponsors will also be given promotional consideration in all 2010 Daytona Beach Film Festival materials, stressing the benefit of on-screen theater advertising.

Cinematique of Daytona will present the 8th annual Daytona Beach Film Festival November 12-14, 2010.  The Fort Lauderdale Film Festival will partner with the festival and provide select films.  Films are currently being accepted and volunteers are welcomed.  Details:  www.dbff.org.
